Travel to Russia
Here we will describe tips on how to travel to Russia. This page is created for foreigners who are planning a trip to Russia, as well as russians who live abroad or have not visited Russia in a while.
TicketsIf you plan a trip to one of the larger russian cities, such as Moscow or Saint Petersburg, your best bet is to buy tickets to large international airlines, such as Lufthansa, Delta, United Airlines, British Airways or Air France. If, however, you plan to get outside of the capital, russian airlines will definitely be a better bargain. Try one of these russian airlines, or airlines of CIS - Aeroflot, Siberian Airlines, Transaero.

Aeroflot is the largest russian airline, and it sells tickets on the main U.S. travel websites, such as Expedia.com.Tickets to other russian airlines can be harder to obtain. Look on the airline's websites and call russian travel agencies. Here's a list of russian travel agencies in USA.
AccomodationsPlease be warned, that hotel prices for foreign citizens are usually higher than for Russian citizens. Use your russian passport in Russia, if you have one. Foreign citizens must register upon arival to Russia. If you stay in a hotel, they should register you for the time of stay. Don't get alarmed if you don't plan to stay in the hotel for the whole duration of the trip, a several day registration will be enough for the customs.
