raiting (0/0) Kremlin-backed Dmitry Medvedev, 42, won Russia's presidential election by a landslide, preliminary results from the Central Election Commission showed on Monday. With 99.5% of the ballots counted Medvedev received 70.2% of the votes in Sunday's elections with a record turnout of 69.6% of the country's 109 million eligible voters. Papers are counted as of 06:00, Moscow time, Monday. According to the Central Election Commission (CEC), the results are the following: Dmitry Medvedev (nominated by the United Russia Party) - 70.2 percent; Gennady Zyuganov (leader of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation, CPRF) - 17.8 percent; Vladimir Zhirinovsky (leader of the Liberal Democratic Party of Russia, LDPR) - 9.4 percent; Andrei Bogdanov (self-nominated leader of the Democratic party of Russia)- 1.3 percent.
