raiting (-2/2) Ukrainian Prime Minister Viktor Yanukovich said that he was opposed to calls for the impeachment of President Viktor Yushchenko. He told a news conference on Thursday that calls for impeaching Yushchenko were “destructive”. “They will only deepen the crisis. We are not considering any impeachments,” he said. “We are against deepening the crisis, we are for going out of the crisis. We are for cooperation with the president,” Yanukovich said. He also said that the Party of Regions was not preparing for early parliamentary elections ordered by Yushchenko. “We throw aside any options of the early elections, and for this reason we are not holding and we will not hold any negotiations,” Yanukovich said. Earlier Yanukovich has walked out of the session of the National Security and Defense Council, which is considering the political situation in the country and preparations for elections. At the entrance to the presidential secretariat, where a crowd of reporters was waiting for him, Yanukovich refused to comment on his decision to leave the council’s session. He promised to present his explanations later. Source: Other articles in Politics: Readers' CommentsNo comments Add your commentary |
