Green Card Lottery DVWhat is Green Card Lottery?Every year U.S. government issues 50,000 visas out to the citizens of other countries who want to become permanent residents of the United States. Some participants, their family members and children under age of 21 can receive a Green Card that will allow them to live and work, and later potentially become citizens of the United States. Every year in October U.S. Department of State (part of the U.S. government) names winners of the Green Card Lottery. If you want to participate, don't wait too long and send you applications now!New Rules for the Green Card Lottery ApplicantsU.S. Department of State announced, that starting from 2005, and following years all "Green Card" Diversity Visa Lottery applications will be accepted only electronically through the website of the Department of State. You must attach digital photo to your application. Applications sent via regular mail are no longer accepted.Current Lottery - DV-2010Currently DV-2011 is now OPEN, applications are accepted between October 2nd and November 30th 2009.Russian and Ukrainian citizens CAN participate in the lottery. Previous Green Card Lottery InformationGreen Card Lottery DV-2010Department of State was accepting applications for the Green Card Lottery DV-2010 between October 2nd 2008 and December 1st 2008. Starting July 1st 2008, you can check the status of your application online on the Department's website (see above). Department of State will begin issuing visas on October 1st 2009. Russian and Ukrainian citizens COULD participate in the lottery.Green Card Lottery DV-2009Applications for the Green Card Lottery DV-2009 were accepted between October 2nd 2007 and December 1st 2007.
