Why do you need one?
Judging by the explosion of your posts you'd be either shooting people, or killed by another nut

Heard anything of self defence ? America has most liberal laws on self defence, it is almost like if they punch you in the face it is already legal to "shoot back".

It really depends a lot on which state you live in. Most Western and Southern states you can get one, although citizenship may be required. New York, California, etc. fugitaboutit! However consider what Sheriff says - it's a license to carry concealed, not to shoot up the town like a western movie!
Most states, you simply give background information, the police/sheriff verify you have no criminal background, maybe you have to take a written test, maybe you have to shoot for proficiency.
But it's a damned serious responsibility. Several good books out there on what you can/can't do, how to go about it.
