I am 29, MA Economics (Hebrew University of Jerusalem, Israel), BA Finance (an University in Russia).
I am thinking over of looking for a job (official job + visa) in the States – as I found there much more opportunities in the US than in Israel.
The question is if my background (Israeli MA and experience in Israeli bank) convertible for the States. Once – when I arrived to Israel from Russia – I realized that I need to start from the very beginning, so I don't want to be in that movie again.

I would guess that finance in Israel are a lot closer to US than they were in Russia.
What type of finance?
Again, I would go on monster.com or financial career sites - try for instance http://www.efinancialcareers.com/, and look for a similar job describtion to what you've been doing - keep in mind that job titles (and salaries for that matter) may be different. They typically list requirement. I'd say, if you can feet 3/4 of requirements and have enough experience - you should be good to go.
