Travel documents - need help!

Hi guys,
I live in London. My boyfriend and me are getting married in May and I wanted to invite my friend to celebrate with us. She is in the USA on fiance visa .
My friend is Russian and she is marrying her American boyfriend in March and we thought that then they would be able to travel to the UK. We later found out that it is not that simple and it takes up to 6 months to get some travel documents for her. Can someone explain how it all works and whether there is ANY way to speed up this process? We have known each other for ages and it would be really sad if she cannot come to my wedding Thank you.

I think you are out of luck, AFAIK is she travels outside U.S. , she will automatically loose her fiance status.
