Didn't quite understand. If you are a wife - you must be married, right?
Or are you talking about K1 fiancee visa? That is a different question, you'd have to look for requirements for K1 visa, and then get married in US within 90 days, I believe.

no, I am already married. I married in Ukraine and we applied for a family sponsored visa. But I do not know this: should I marry again in States? Should I be given a residency during my interview or just a visa and then I should apply for the residency when I am there?

Нет, если Вы звмужем за Американским гражданином по праву другой страны Вам не нужно легализовать свой брак в США. Lex matrimoni (признание брака иностранного государства), черт возьми!

if you are married in russia and then come to the United States there is a provision that the marriage can be contested in open court if it is felt that the documentation in question from Russia is not recognized in America, otherwise No you would not be required, but many couples will have a second ceremony anyway with friends and family present that formalizes such marriage.
