Following IndieMac, and future Fannie Mae collapse/bankruptcy - F.D.I.C. "Federal" Deposits Insurance Corporation (that supposedly insures bank deposits up to $100,000, but will not have enough money to probably cover even 1%), has a list of banks in trouble, I believe 76 US banks are on that list right now. They don't provide the data to prevent run on the banks - and subsequent bank collapses due to fractional reserves (Banks DON'T have money to pay more than 10% of the customers).

But here's a list of banks that written off significant assets recently. If your bank is on the list, I'd be worried, except for the big ones like Citigroup, JP Morgan, Goldman Sachs, Bank of America - they are on the con of printing money (i.e. they get big royalties on The "Fed" creating money out of thin air) and therefore will be bailed out (they probably ARE the Fed). Anyhow, here's the list:
