Its a normal Russian last name.
I’ve never met anyone with this name, but it doesn't seem strange/ or offensive.

You cannot translate it as “marriages”; historical meaning might be
--the person who belong to another person with last name “BRAK”

and “Brak” in Russian translated as “marriage” or “defective item”. Funny, but true
