Sheriff, I've now lost count of my days I've skied this year.
Today was a powder day.
It was so deep. I was in glorious heaven.
We ended up with about 9 inches of fresh snow

Maybe when I log off? You will tell me.
Would you like to see some photos of my trip over to Stratton Mountain?

Hi Brad, didn't see your post.

I don't own skis Eek! Eek!
Don't know why, because I either ski far away from home and I don't like carrying skis and boots around. Near home I only ski 3-4 times during winter, that doesn't justify skiing equipment.

Sure, shoot me some photos. Maybe I'll ski this or next weekend in Poconos, I really WANT TO, despite a March 8th Women's day that is coming up...

Sounds good Sheriff, But you should at least have your own boots.
I hate sticking my feet in anything that is considered rentals.
I will not go bowling because of that.
Rentals suck.
To me, it's like wearing someone else's underwear. Frown
So I will make a new post.. Stratton Mountain... With photos

Sure, rentals suck. I don't rent on the mountain but in a town below, they usually have better newer equipment. Loose an hour of valuable ski time with rentals.

I'll probably buy something soon - it's a PITA to find what's good and will work.

Which boots do you recommend? Is there a place I can read about 'em without the sales pitch stuff?

Sheriff, I can't really do a boot fit over the internet Very happy
But the boot should be uniformly snug.
Whom ever you do get boots from should do a couple of things.
#1. Measure your foot. Not just ask you for your size.
#2. Do a shell fit. He should take the bladder out of the boot. Place your foot in the boot. There should be no more room than 2 fingers behind the heel.
#3. The boot fitter should assess whether you pronate, or suppinate. Pronation is a misalignment or an inward rotation of the foot structure, suppination is the opposite.
#4. He should now be asking you about the uniform fit of the boot. You should now be rolling the boot on it's sides. You do not want to have your foot moving in the boot.
#5. The person should be informing you of how the inner boot stretches about a half a size.

There's a lot more to it than I can relay to you in Forum.
But it's a good start.
Good luck
The next time you're in the Pocono's? Stop in at Nestor's. I hear it's a good shop.

Sheriff, I skied today. It was so good.
A funny thing happened though.
I went over to South Mountain.
This lady asked me if I would take her picture of her and her husband.
I said; Of course I will. It would be my pleasure.
She had an accent.
I asked her if she was from Canada? It's the holiday for Quebec this week.
She said no. We are from Boston.
I said; Not with that accent baby.
She said; Originally from Russia.
I said; Privet, kak dela.
I said; Kak vashe imya?
She said what? You can speak Russian?
I said; Ya znaju po-russkij nemnogo.
She was like; Holy shit. I'm impressed. Brad, your Russian is really good.
I thanked her.

So my group that I ski with. When we get to the bottom of the hill. Rich asked me. What were you speaking? Polish?
No, Russian
Cathay says; Do you speak Russian?
Yeah, I know a few words.

So all my friends were like. You say you only know a few words. But you were talking with her for 15 minutes.
I run out of words to say. But reading your stuff in this forum helps me.
