If you are on Windows, you need to install Russian language on it. It is done quite easily through Control Panel.

For instance, on Windows XP:
1) click on Start -> Control Panel
2) click on "Regional and Language Options" icon (some older Windows will call it "Languages"Wink.
3) now you need to find how to add another language in there. on Windows XP, click on "Language" tab, then on "Details" button (yeah, quite annoying, but that is Miscrosoft interface probably created by H1-B programmers from India).
4) inside window that will show English language, there will be a button "Add...", or "Add Language". Click on that one, then follow prompt to install it. Some older Windows may require an installation CD, I think XP doesn't.

Now you should be able to switch between English and Russian by either pressing a combination of buttons like left Alt+Shift, or they will appear in Status bar on the right, just use mouse to switch. You should be able to use any program (like Word) to type in russian.

If you wanted to type in russian in this forum, all you need to do is use transliteration i.e. type russian words with english characters, and then click "Translit" button on the left side of the message box.

Sheriff, doesn't that work the same as using the keyboard function you have on this site? It's still just copy, and, paste

Not quite.

"Translit" button that we have here will translate "transliteration" (i.e. russian words written in english letters) into russian, then you can copy-paste anywhere you want. You'd need to be connected to the internet to use it.

These steps above will add russian language to your computer. You will be able to type in russian in any Windows program, like Word, without being connected to internet.

I suppose I meant it was more or less the same method. Copy and paste.
I think I have seen "word" somewhere in my files. I've never opened that application. I can just come to this site and use the keyboard if I ever need it.
