I am hoping someone can give me some advice. I got an e-mail out of the blue (cyberspace) from a Russian woman. She has sent several pictures, she is very pretty, and she has been flirty with me, calling me dear and making jokes about us sharing a bed, sharing time together, etc... She told me from the beginning that she was coming to the US very soon, is now asking for me to send $1450 USD because she needs to have a total of $3,000 USD to stay here on a short term business visa. She has given me an address in Moscow and a phone # to the bank where she wants me to wire the money. She says she only needs the money until she arrives in the US. Once we meet she returns the money and that is that. I think I am being scammed, but she is very convincing with her e-mail messages and pictures. Let me hear from someone about this. How can I verify the truthfulness of her request? Her last name is now Irina Kyrennova, it was Irina Ermakova. I'm not sure why it is different now. Thanks for your help.

Lloyd, what the hell, you're not sure? or you're joking:-) even if she/he/it was not a scam(but of course it is), you do not send any money anyway. who cares what her name is. You have not seen her. If you're that horny go to Moscow your self. If you find a real girl, chances are she got more money than you, and she would not need your money anyway, since its Moscow

It's a scam. Sorry.
Tell her you are coming to Moscow. She will most likely disappear immediately after you say that. In the worst case, you will just enjoy a city and thousands upon thousands of the most beautiful ladies in the world.

what the number she gave you: cellular or regular. If it's regular # in Moscow I can check who is the owner of number. It's free and easy. If she gave you her cellular #, then remember it does not mean antithing. But home # we could check. Could you publish here some words of her letters... Did you check her IP# yet? Is it ok? Any way Sheriff's advice sounds well. Moscow is not the worst place in the World. I sure you'll like the city.
Kyrennova? Russain have strange last names, but this is too strange even for Russian. May be Kuren(y)ova, Korennova or Karenina

Al Bundy, thanks for the reply. She did not give me a phone #, I asked her for one this morning, as of yet no reply. When you asked if I checked the IP address what would I look for? I know I chatted with a woman from mexico the address was yahoo.com.mx or something, I assume if she is e-mailing from Russia there would be some unique coding in the IP details?

Of course. IP# is very important. It sould be only russian from Moscow of cource. IP adress you coud check here: www.whois.com. Any way ask her for regular (MGTS - phone operator), NOT CELLULAR (!!!!) phone. If she'll say that she has not this one in the home. Ask her for her work phone #. If she says that she has not that again. She 100% scummer. Trust me. EVERYBODY in Russia has a PHONE, especialy in Moscow. Otherway how she can surf in the net? All her replies that she can't is 10000% bull shit. She's dream about to share a bed with you, but she has not phone is not it strange? I think all these her delays are only tricks. So as result: ASK - CALL - GO TO. Any way don't you want to hear her voice? Do you?

I left out a lot of details about her messages, she was in a small town in Siberia when I first started with her and she said right from the beginning she was coming here soon to work for a few months on a work visa, I checked out the name of the Siberian town, not hard to do just to see that it existed. She just arrived in Moscow yesterday, and of course she is excited to be coming to United States, she even sent me her flight itinerary, it all looks very official. She is supposed to fly into PDX (Portland, Or) on Saturday. Her story sounds believable. But that is how all scams work. I did ask her to send me a phone # where she is staying so I can speak to her. I think that will be the end of her ruse. Thanks again for all the replies.

I just e-mailed her and told her I was coming to Moscow to personally escort her here! That should get her! I feel a bit stupid that I was a bit naive about this. Thanks for the replies.

she was in a small town in Siberia when I first started with her and she said right from the beginning she was coming here soon to work for a few months on a work visa --- Well, well, well. If she has money to come in Moscow from Syberia for all visa's formalities in embasy of US. She must have enough has money for plane in States. It's too hard get a work visa in US espec. for young girl from Syberia. Your way abiut escort is not bad. But I ensured that she is the scummer. Why? She uses the typical plane of russian scummers. E-mail relationships avoiding personal talks via phone. The play is taking from 2 to 4 months. In the end she needs money NOW immediately (for tockets, for mom's doctor, fot little too smarty brtothers expensive medicines, for cops arrested her garnddad etc.)
IF you use yahoo.com mail server, please press link "Full Headers" there's IP#. And publish it here. IP is not personal info.
I don't want you wast your time in 9 hours flight to Moscow.
What do think about.

Lloyd dude, did you really believe in that crap? I guess it felt great, but now you finally realize why it is like that.
I got an idea. Why don't you tell her that you're gonna send some money to her by western union. In that case she must provide a real name. They are gonna ask her to show passport otherwise she can't receive money. So most likely you're get the actual name of the scammer or somebody who works with them. I wonder if the gives you Irina Kyrennova or Ermakova... The let us know which name she gave you. So Albandy will check it.

Yes but sum should not be great. I think 50 bucks would be enof, to get in the WU offgice to show her pass for that money. I'll shure her pasport on Kyrenovva is fake? of money will be recived with a power of attorney given by Ms Kyrennova. There's a real criminal scenario, but in the last monent they changed the person who will accept the WU's transfer. I think that their gratest failure.

actually does not need to send any money. just get her name. if she really wants to get the money she will provide some name from a passport she has. i think she also must provide a real address. tell her that they require real address and phone here at a western union office. and i think they do require.
i know that in Moscow they are very strict giving money from western union. I sent only about $300 before NewYear to make a restaurant reservation, and they were asking my friend a bunch of questions not only about him and his passport, but also about the sender(myself)!!!
just get the name, phone, address and then we'll see.

Lloyd, A couple of red flags arise. First, what kind of business op? Seasonal work visas are usually limited to the lower paying jobs that lazy little American kids won't do. I.E. Food service, Chamber maids, Summer camp workers. If it's any of those jobs? I be surprised if she would make the 1400.oo in a month to pay you back. Secondly, You have said you received her itinerary. Why did you only write, Moscow to Portland? Does she not have a stop in Boston, N.Y.C., Washington, Atlanta, Or, Chicago? That's an awfully long flight Thirdly, Do a google search of known Russian scammers. Make sure you type in both names. There should be several options to chose from. But whatever you do? Do not send her any money. Just enjoy the photos. Because that's all you will get out of her.

I did a copy and paste on the entire message she sent me asking for the money including the IP #, it includes info about the bank, Western Union, and her real name to wire the money to. She has sent me 2 more e-mails begging me to send the money or she will have to cancel travel plans and OH how embarrasing that would be! I asked her how embarrassing it would be for me to send her the money and never hear from her again. She said she would try to call me from a pay phone in Moscow since she is in temp housing. To the person who suggested I check her out on Google, how do I do that? Thanks for the advice to you all. I would really like to get to the bottom of this. There should be a law.

She is a waitress in a nightclub in the evenings and is in a University in the day, Chita, Siberia is the town she works in near her home town. Most of what she says sounds somewhat believable. But I have been trying to pin her down of some specifics, like how she got all the way to Moscow without realizing or knowing how much money would be required for her to leave Russia. It just doesn't make sense. She has not explained how her last name changed yet either. Thanks for your imput.

Lloyd, why don't you tell her you're gonna send money by western union, then lets see what she's gonna tell you.
you're still thinking if she could be real or sounds real. does not matter. if she was real, still it would be really dumb to send money to somebody you do not know.

It doesn't matter now Lloyd. You know she is from the Urals, Ekatrinaburg. Or whatever the spelling. But the site www.russiantearoom.com has a whole section on scammers. But just type in a search for russian scam site, then hit search. You wouldn't believe all you can find. One site even has the scammers listed by city. Photos and all. They are real women, just the people behind the letters are not. Anybody can go to a datind site, or a magazine photo gallery and get as many pics as they want. Plus a few sites have email addresses that they use, and all known aliases

Yes, I know. But I have led her to believe that if she can verify the information she has given me, and I know she can't or won't, I will send her money. NOT! I am going to see if I can find her on a scammers website. Thanks.
