Tout d'abord, je m'excuse pour les erreurs inevitables de mon francais; vous comprenez, j'espere, que je ne suis qu'une bete americaine qui est "isolee" de tout le monde et donc ne connais pas les langues etrangeres. Je m'excuse egalement de ne pas utiliser les accents, car mon ordinateur, formattee pour l'anglais d'une manere egoiste et typiquement americaine, ne les soutient pas.
A propos de votre message, je soupconne que vous etes sur le point de nous dire que les francais ont gagne TOUTES leurs guerres, que le soleil meme brille de l'interieurs de leurs culs, et que l'aneantissement de la dynastie de Capetiens au 14eme siecle est certainement le resultat d'un complot americain dirige par les ancetres de Bush.
Je crois qu'il serait plus juste et plus intelligent de nous abstenir de generalisations si large envers les francais ET envers les americains. Les individus sont tous differents, et les histoires de nations sont tres compliquees. Il est tres bete, a mon avis, de characteriser les nations entieres de cette facon -- honettes ou non, intelligentes ou stupides, sages ou ignorantes. La sagesse se manifeste dans la moderation -- pas dans les points de vue extremes, comme celui que tiennent beaucoup d'americains ET de francais (et de russes, egalement). Ne soyez donc pas comme "les ennemies de la France" (allegues) et montrez-nous la meme objectivite que vous demandez des americains.

Babelfish, как всегда, переводит очень забавно. Артикли ему, как видимо, не под силу, не говоря уже про сослагательное наклонение. Однако умиляет интеллигентный перевод слова "cul". Впрочем, на кой здесь Babelfish? Я была уверена что здешний франкофил и полиглот обладает достаточным знанием французкого языка чтобы не прибегать к таким левым костылям.

I am sorry to hear that you have a knee jerk reaction to assume that an American speaking of France is being critical. I live in France and have found your people so welcoming, and tolerant of my mouvais Français that I find it very painful every time I hear an American criticizing the French. Far from being arrogant, I have found that the French to be very accepting and international, of many people not just Americans.
Marrying a French woman was the best decision I ever made.
Vive la France! Vive la république!
