In one of my russian language books it has a sentence that reads.
he's making tea..... Oha zavarivaet chaj.
doesn't that say. she's making tea?
shouldn't that have been?
On zavarivaet chaj.
Eto pravda?

if u mean "she is making tea" u`re fully right!!
if not u should say: "ona zavarivala chaj" for "she was making tea"

thanks. that's what i thought. but it's always good to check. i will make a notation in my book about the correct way to say that.

then at the end of the chapter where the test is. it said.
kak dojti do ulitsy tverskoj?
are both correct. it's confusing.
in closing; i would like to say.
za teh, kto tam, a kto zdes'- tot sam,
we a little practice; i will be able to rattle that off with no problem

brad, it's like:
"how do I get to Park Avenue" or
"how can I get to..." or
"how would I get to Park Avenue", and so on. Same meaning, slightly different form or accent.

You can also say:
Do tverskoi ulitsi doiti kak? or
Do tverskoi ulitsi kak doiti? or
Doiti kak do ulitsi tverskoi? or
Kak do ulitsi tverskoi doiti? or
Kak doiti do ulitsi tveskaya or ... no matter how you do combine the pharse everything is good.

no matter the order of the words. as long as I get them in the right declination; all is correct.
