This is an OUTRAGE. I am not aware how to deal with it but to bring to public's attention.
There are groups - "charity organizations" that are identifying themselves as "fraternal order of Police", "Police sports organization" and others. They call people and basically REQUEST to donate money. When being pointed out, that they are not police, that the phone numbers are on a federal "DO NOT CALL LIST", they just blatantly ignore it and try to squeeze you into donation. They claim that the Federal Do Not Call list does not apply to them "because they are charities that help clean up the community", and "they will continue to call next year because the number may go to somewhere else", and that "they clean up community and I am not helping" and other BS and lies.
We are increasingly becoming to live in a POLICE STATE. Police feels that they are above the law - they can stop and search cars without probable cause (which is UNCONSTITUTIONAL), they can use millions of budget dollars to buy themselves new toy-cars (in the area where I live I counted at more than 10 new police cruisers within last month - that is almost $1 million dollars WASTED). Something needs to be done, and laws of our founding fathers brought back upon our land.
Just My Humbling Opinion.

Police cannot search your car, unless you agreed. And they do not stop cars for no reason. And who was counting police cars?

Это я написал. Задолбали звонить, уже наверное раз 20 в этом году звонят, деньги попрошайничают. И не собираются останавливаться звонить.
who was counting police cars?
I was counting, you don't even have to bother that much, just cross the bridge in the morning - there are 3 cars on one side, 4-5 cars on the other, and a couple in the "traps", all brand-spanking new Dodge Chargers, Caravans and Durangos. And that's within 2-mile radius, and not counting cars on patrol.

sherriff; Ive not heard of those fake police charities. but on the subject of counting police cars; and officers. I live in a small town. we have 10 full time cops; 24 part timers. our population is about 2000 people. that comes to about 1 cop for every 60 people.would that be considered a police state in another country? would america try to bully another country that had a police force of that magnitude?why would you need that many cops? p.s. I like the russian slang in russia for cops. " musar"

The police in Russia is not called "police", it is called "militia" and it really is a militia. May be it is better now, but I highly doubt it. They could stop your car for no reason whatsoever and you had to get out of the car and go to them. Then they would tell you, that you were not buckled, or check your documents and ask how much have you paid for the car. When I was driving back there, I was stopped by this militia almost every day. They are called “musor” for a reason.
A joke about militia:
Little boy is making something out of shit. Militia man comes by and asks:
- What are you making? - Militia man
Militia man gets mad, spanks the boy, tells him not to do it, but same thing happens a few more times, until finally militia man sees the boy making something using soil and sand, he comes to the boy and asks:
- What are you making? - Firefighter - Why aren’t you using shit to make a firefighter? - Because then it will become a militia man.
